GETTING STARTED

Using the compressor

How do I compress an image?

Choose or drop one or more images, select an output format, adjust quality or dimensions if needed, and select Compress images. Download a result individually or use the ZIP download for the batch.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Images are decoded, resized, and compressed in your browser. PixelNeon does not upload your selected images to a server for compression.

Which formats are supported?

You can export JPEG/JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, and HEIC. GIF, TIFF, HEIF/HEIC, and common camera RAW files can also be selected as inputs. RAW is an input-only format.

TROUBLESHOOTING

When something goes wrong

Why is my image not getting smaller?

Some images are already efficiently compressed. Try a lower quality setting, smaller dimensions, or a different output format such as WebP or AVIF. Always compare the output before using it.

Why will a file not open?

Very large images and some less common camera RAW variants may not be supported by your browser or this version of the tool. Try a current desktop browser and make sure the file is one of the listed supported formats.

Why does animated GIF behave differently in another format?

GIF-to-GIF export preserves animation. Converting an animated GIF to a still-image format uses its first frame.

Where are my downloads saved?

Downloads go to the location configured in your browser. PixelNeon does not keep a server-side copy of your results.
